While having lunch at the Scarsborough Hotel on the way down to Coledale (or perfect stop after walking across the Sea Cliff Bridge), there were so many cockatoos joining us.
The pub has a bell to ring if you see whales, which I guess is getting a workout at the moment. None the day we were there though.
Every time a table would leave, the birds would swoop in for the scraps before the staff could get to it.
Which proved entertaining enough for me!
A few resting shots....
which was the only time I could get them close up.
Beautiful cockatoos! It looks like they have adapted to civilization much like pigeons have.
ReplyDeleteEven without a whale sighting, those cockatoos provided excellent entertainment. Their commitment to swooping in for the scraps before the staff can clean up is pure comedy. Your photos really capture that speed and boldness. It is always a fun experience when the local wildlife decides to join you for a meal. I am glad you had such a lovely day with views and sunshine.
ReplyDeleteEver see Baretta?
ReplyDeleteThe cockatoos are beautiful, great series of photos.
ReplyDeleteTake care, enjoy your day and the new week ahead.
The birds look so tame but then again they are probably just interested in the food, I'm surprised people are allowed to feed them.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful birds and I'd share my meal with them. So precious.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week, Lydia. Hugs. ♥
There are so many of them. My mom would love them. She owns a small green parrot and my youngest loves watching parrot videos on instagram.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful birds and beautiful photos and post, thanks for sharing.
