"We shape our buildings; thereafter they shape us." Winston Churchill




I had a fly in, fly out lunch in Melbourne the other day. I went for Hockney (definitely go if you haven't been already) and then raced to Supernormal and then back to the airport. Luxury and indulgence at it's best. 






I've not been to the NGV for a good decade, I think. It was really nice to return. I enjoyed the streetscape, the art of the building and of course, the art IN the building. (The street art was covered in last weeks post).









I really hope to get back to Melbourne this year for a weekend, as they're is so much to see and do. It's an ever changing city with so much of whatever takes your fancy.


 I just really liked the moss in the fountain - it's alluring yet dirty....

    I love Melbourne - I doubt I could live there but I love to visit.

    I have never been to Melbourne, and can't imagine flying for more than 30 hours at my age, but your photos bring something of Melbourne to me.

    I love Melbourne. The street art is plentiful and the buildings are quite interesting. I have not seen Hockney though.

    Yes I love an occasional trip to Melbourne. I like how all the little laneways in the city have quirky coffee shops and little boutiques. It's coffee heaven! #TeamLovinLife

    Wow - lucky you seeing Hockey's exhibition at NGV! For 79 he is incredibly innovative, not to mention talented! I haven't been to Melbourne since 2012 and I'm dying to go back! I love it there. #TeamLovinLife

    We don't really get to Melbourne. By living in Sydney and having family in Adelaide and Perth we tend to have to miss it.
    Also Melbourne weather is colder and a bit bleak for me :)

      Not all of it, but yes. Part of the ongoing disaster of Westconnex. They're also building right next to a local school. It's a mess.
