Can you believe this is in Sydney?

Anyone who follows my Insta will know we've had a few getaways, where the weather has been less than ideal. However, when you're away, there's little work to do and just a different view out the window can make all the difference.
Here's to beaches, birds and blue skies for everyone.
We even got in plenty of wildlife visits from the kind of friendly natives...(linking with
#AwwMondays for the little one on the left!)
Plenty of golf, tennis, volleyball and boogie boarding. And long walks on the beach!
Wanting a getaway? These photos are taken at Currawong and Culburra.
Further details for Currawong and Culburra are here. And we also stayed here in Culburra- a good one for the rainy weekend we had.
Fingers crossed the sun is out on Saturday, as we're off to yet another beach house...
What a beautiful spot to get away from it all. I would be happy to sit and watch the wild life there, love that monitor. Keep safe Diane
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous snaps! The lizard is really quite large. At first glance, I thought Komodo dragon. Looks like a beautiful getaway.

I believe they're related.
DeleteHi Lydia,
ReplyDeleteI am particularly enthusiastic about the wildlife visits from the kind of friendly natives ... For us in Central Europe it all seems very exotic :-D I keep my fingers crossed that you have good weather on the weekend. But I think rain is important for your country, there has been so much drought ... We hope to travel again one day. My husband has been to Australia (in 1995) but not to Sydney and I have never been down under at all. But perhaps ......
Hugs and happy weekend

Absolutely beautiful Lydia.I wish I were there right now.
ReplyDeleteLoving these snaps! We really do have some gorgeous places to visit here in Australia!
ReplyDeleteIt looks lovely, a little overcast I can see but so peaceful.
ReplyDeleteI think the thing I like about being away from home - as you say - is that you don't have stuff you feel like you HAVE to do.
Sounds like a lovely getaway, despite the weather. Is that a goanna?
ReplyDeleteYes, technically a monitor but for a long while we called them all goannas...
DeleteWhat a great getaway. I've heard of Culburra and been there many a time as I grew up nearby but I'd not heard of Currawong. At first I thought it was Currarong which is down on the south coast too but checked out your link and was very surprised! Greatsnaps for #lifethisweek

ReplyDeleteHow nice to get away and what wonderful wildlife you spotted!
ReplyDeleteLol the only Currawong I’ve seen recently has been the one in my back garden:)
ReplyDeleteWhat great beach spots to spend time in - another place to put on my ‘must visit’ list. When all the borders are open!
What fab photos I'm jealous heheh!
ReplyDeleteHave a wildlifetastic safe week 😷😷😷
Wish I was there! I'm jealous too!
ReplyDeleteAre your SURE that lizard is friendly? He looks quite large! Ours are a few inches long at most!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing at https://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2020/11/a-letter-found-at-world-war-ii-memorial.html
Not friendly at all - and if they bite you, it never heals properly, apparenly....very bacterial.
DeleteThe weather has been ugh hasn't it?! I love the south coast but interestingly, haven't actually been to Culburra yet!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great escape and a beautiful beach and landscape! :)
ReplyDeleteWow! Some visitors you got.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful landscape!
It looks so beautiful there!
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful pics. Very lovely.
ReplyDeletebeautiful photos, looks a lovely place to walk
ReplyDeleteBeautiful beast.
ReplyDeleteSounds wonderful, and yes, anywhere to just be a different view is so relaxing. Love the beach sharing...missing Summer already. Thanks for visiting me.
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing your getaway shots on IG. I am so not a fan of lizards and goannas. I can take snakes but not these! Glad you have had the chance to get out, about and to by the water!
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking up for #lifethisweek. Next week the optional prompt is 46/51 Exams. 16.11.2020 Hope to see you then! Denyse.
aww...big lizard
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great place to get away for a while to relax.
ReplyDeleteI have to admit that your wildlife is much more interesting than ours in NZ!
Thanks for sharing your link at 'My Corner of the World' this week!
How exotic the Wildlife Animals on your shots. Greetings from Germany
ReplyDeleteKirsi
Wonderful peaceful images, although the dragon looks fearsome. I guess it is smaller than it appears to be in the portrait.
ReplyDeleteNope! It was huge - maybe 2 metres? Metre & a half....
DeleteHuge goanna.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteWonderful visits from the wildlife, the Goanna Lizard is cool. I love the cute Wallaby too. The beach looks beautiful, looks like a great place to visit. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a great new week! PS, thanks for leaving me a comment.
Kangaroos, huge lizards and beautiful beaches...what more could you ask for? Looks like you had a good time.
