'Grey skies are just clouds passing over'. Duke Ellington

We were invited on a friend's boat the other night, and while the weather looked dismal, we went anyway. There was a pause in the rain and even with grey skies, it was a wonderful evening. Relaxing, beautiful and luxurious.

Sometimes you just have to say yes, when all of your brain is saying no.

I don't know if it's age or COVID that has increased an inflexibility, but I'm noticing it's creeping into my thought processes. And I don't like it.

However, if I push through my initial reluctance, I am rewarded with beauty and pleasure. Here's to saying yes more often!

  2. We did the bridge walk on the sydney harbour bridges a few years back and it was one of my most memorial experiences. I would highly recommend it.

    1. I've not done the bridge climb. It's so $$ but maybe I need to do it for a treat....

  3. Sailing is so relaxing! I'm glad you went and saw such beautiful sights. I agree that covid has made us think differently and be more reluctant but hopefully with vaccines it will open the world again to experiences.

  4. Guess my comment didn't get through!
The different captures of the golden sunset over the water and the bridge are stunning! Also the tree - capture. Happy you pushed through your resistance. Maybe you can call it Covid fatigue - we all had a horrid and stressful year, and it drains on/effects you, in one or the other way. Be kind to yourself:)

  8. I do love the times we've been out on the boat with rain and then it turns so balmy and nice. Yes, on the reluctance. I'm hoping for less of my feeling that now that I will have both vaccine shots. But will still be vigilant, but hoping the worry stress is less.

    1. I just wanted to say that you hit the nail on the head. The vaccine isn't the magic cure in the way people talk about it, but over time (in years) it will be, like polio etc. So keep up the social distancing and sensible behaviours, but yes, stress less about it all...good words!! I worry about the way some people are talking...
