Four Seasons in one day

In line with Sydney's competitive nature towards Melbourne, we seem to have taken on their weather. Just before New Year's we took friends up to Cottage Point for a BBQ. The weather was overcast but not forcast for rain.

Then there was a down pour.
Then the blue skies came out as if it had always been sunny.
And then the grey clouds reappeared.

Still a lovely day out, and a green snake leapt from the raised retaining wall to land with a slap on the ground less than a foot behind me. Alas I was too slow to whip out my phone and it had slithered away before I could get a shot - probably due to my involunatry squealing! That was definitely a first for me!

So for this week's #Allseasons linky, I'm talking about all seasons in one day!

  2. I was expecting a combination of rain, snow, thunder and sun such s we have here in Connecticut, but true you wrapped All Seasons up in one day. In Florida we had torpid green iguanas drop from the trees during a cold snap.

    1. That is bizarre!! I guess that's a hazard with cold blooded creatures!

  3. Pretty pics ...and changing of the weather is -at least here - a normal thing in summer :-). And also in winter. We had minus 11 degrees (C) and a day later about 10 plus...
Have a good time and all the best

  5. We have that kind of weather in Utah too, Lydia, particularly in the spring. In fact we like to say, "Don't like the weather in Utah? Wait an hour."

  6. Lydia,
Thanks so much for stopping by!! It seems that we had a bit of everything in January...50 degree temps, then temps in the single digits, snow and then rain and wind...All with very little Sun which is pretty normal here in NEPA in the Winter...This week, we are enjoying Seasonal weather with low's in the 20's and high's in the low 40's...I hope you are having a great week!!
    Hugs,

  7. Dear Lydia, all seasons in one day is practical 😉 - at least when summer returns! It's still winter here...
If a green snake suddenly appeared behind my back, I would have squealed too! (I was told that Australia has the most poisonous snakes in the world...)
What you wrote to me in your comment about how the rich don't get a big enough tax cut and that the media complains about it is really a bit strange... especially in times like these, when the rich in the world have doubled their assets "thanks" to Covid ...
    All the best, Traude

    1. The big joke is they are still getting a tax cut. It's just not as big as promised. 75% of the population on less than $190,000 will get a bigger tax cut than initially promised. It's ridiculous. (The media focus on it)

  9. ...the one thing that for certain is the weather will change. We are having spring instead of winter in February. Take care and have a wonderful week.

  10. Hello, Lydia, "Intelliblog" is my only blog that will allow comments on your blog, so here it goes: Yes, the climate has gone crazy and often in Melbourne we seem to be in a semi-tropical climate now. Climate change is unfortunately real and we will see even more severe weather events in the years ahead... Thank you for hosting! (Nick from MAP)

    1. I'm so sorry! I've no idea how to fix it but am trying. Probably explains my spike in readership - everyone trying multiple times to comment -ha!

  13. Snakes have a way to bring out the involuntary squealing! I've done it for lizards! Other than the snake, it looks like a lovely spot.

  14. My 8 year old grandson is interested in the snakes and spiders your way and asked if we could go for a visit....I told him that it is a very long way away and showed him on a map...Michelle

  16. A nice place, right by the water, if it weren't for the threatening cloud? But in the last photo the dark clouds have disappeared and reveal a wonderful view.
