The reds of the Japanese maple and the vivid violet made the greenery around them seem brighter.
And that's a little how we look at the world. We taint it with how we think it is.
Stay warm everyone!
For some reason seeing those red and green leaves put Kodachrome into my head, even though red isn't mention and it refers to summer, but still applicable....and that song is very hard to get out of your head once it pops up...so, you're welcome.

ReplyDeleteIndeed it's different. We have hot temperatures here. I have circulation Problems.
Such beautiful pictures!
ReplyDeleteYou stay warm with doggie and I'll be staying hot for now with the kitties. We whine a lot at the moment ;-)
Beautiful colors and photos. Love the cute pup and the sky image.
ReplyDeleteTake care, happy Friday! Have a great weekend.
We've had cold snaps here too, for the most part it's been a typical Winter except the ice outside has come a month earlier than last year.
ReplyDeleteHello Lydia, beautiful colorful photos, I love the maple leaves, the sky and pretty flower. The cute dog is a favorite! Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a great week ahead. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.
ReplyDeleteI'll be singing Kodachrome all day today. One of my husband's favorite movies is Coneheads and it's in that movie! Lovely colors, especially the leaves!
ReplyDeleteI wish we had colorful winters where I live. Our colors are dreary white and grey skies (mostly), snow, and trees without leaves. But at least it's summer here. I sure remember Kodachrome (the song and the product both) although I, personally, never used it. It was valued for its bright colors. It hasn't been manufactured in years. Pity.
ReplyDeleteI like what you said, "So maybe we need to look for the colours and brightness in our world, in our friendships and relationships." which is quite beautiful. There are colors around even in the drabby state of winter with the sunsets and sunrises. Sometimes, if you're fortunate you may stumble on some pretty blooms like you did. In our part of the US, we frequently see pansies in bloom well into late fall and early winter which is cheery. Thanks for sharing your song pick this week and for joining the 4M party, Lydia!
ReplyDeleteI love that song
ReplyDeleteIt's 45 today with the humidity and I'm in Canada albeit near Niagara Falls. I am avoiding outside..too darn hot. Love this song and haven't heard it in a while
ReplyDeleteLove the song and cute pup! Unfortunately, we are in the middle of a heat wave here. We're trying to stay cool. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's hot here. I'm not a fan of summer. I do love spring and fall. I want that cute pup. What a cutie pie.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week, Lydia. ♥
I like the song by Paul Simon. And it is true. In times like these it is a good thing to look at the colours in our world that still are shining for us.
ReplyDeleteHave a good time and all the best
Violetta
Great purple sky...and flower.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post, Its quite strange that you experiencing winter at this time of year as we have just transitioned out of summer. Tibouchina blooms took my heart away. Thanks for sharing with Garden Affair.
