I saw this in a $2 shop:
What's the point of being a Princess if you still have to hang out in the kitchen? Even if it's a luxury kitchen? Aren't you meant to be doing something better? Even Cinderella was only in the kitchen until she became a princess. If they made a doll of me, I hope I wouldn't be dumped in the kitchen. And I'm not even a Princess.
Where should a Princess be? Asleep in a thorn-covered castle? Asleep in a glass box surrounded by dwarves? In the army, kicking butt like Mulan (that's my preference but for some reason she's not a big hit with the young girls)?
To mother's of boys, I remember gleefully celebrating I was exempt from the whole High School Musical fiasco. I trust you are relishing your exclusion from this endless Frozen palaver.

Lol! Oh my...how she has fallen from grace!
ReplyDeleteOMG. Where did you see this? Surely we can be a little more creative when it comes to our princesses, especially our Frozen girls. Why not set Anna up with some climbing gear? She could have a chalk bag, some ropes and a mountain. Even a horse would do.
ReplyDeleteOh dear, reminds me when my youngest (3 at the time) announced she couldn't do chores because she was a princess. All she thought she could do was wear pretty dresses and be nasty to her ugly sisters.
ReplyDeleteArgh, my comment got eaten!
ReplyDeleteIt's all Thomas and The Wiggles here so far. I have a boy and girl, who knows what the future holds!
Shouldn't princesses be on jet planes or the beach?
LOL - looks like my hopes of turning in a princess one day won't help get me out of cooking !!!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day !
That's hilarious! My boys loved frozen but thank goodness have been kept blissfully unaware of all the hype surrounding it. They love their princess in the kitchen aka me!
ReplyDeletePoor Anna she looks so sad stuck in a kitchen. I think this girl boy toy divide is a bit sad in itself. Sad more so that someone sitting in a office somewhere in the world thinks this is a brilliant idea - I wonder if they have a princess in the kitchen waiting for them at home ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty grateful that we missed the whole Frozen deal! Saw the movie at the drive-in, but Bell's a bit old. She's never been a huge princess fan anyway, except when she was 3 and wanted to be either a princess or a tree :)
ReplyDeleteI find it odd that shes in a kitchen when I dont remember her actually doing anything in the kitchen in the movie? Or perhaps I missed it because I haven't watched it a million times like the other crazies.
ReplyDeleteOh my how ridiculous! Anna spends 90% of the movie traipsing through the wilderness, so there is all manner of things she could be paired with. I could understand with Cinderella or Snow White because they did spend some of the story slaving after people...but this is ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteHow funny!
ReplyDeleteLOL

Well spotted talk about stereo typing Although my little man loves frozen. I love that he loves frozen.
ReplyDeleteThat's terrible! I'm lucky, my 6 year old has no interest in Frozen....my 18 month old nephew on the other hand becomes transfixed when he hears it! haha! I can laugh, because that's my sister's problem! -Aroha xo
ReplyDeleteOh wow, you would think we had moved on somewhat wouldn't you!! This astounds me actually. In this day and age, what would possess a company to make this! I can understand the Frozen obsession, I live it everyday, but at no stage in the movie are the main characters in a kitchen!!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've ever seen a kitchen on Frozen never mind one of the princesses in one. lol
ReplyDeleteMother of boys here too so I've missed the whole Frozen and princess thing.
ReplyDeleteI think we should all wear our tiara's while doing the cooking this evening! I have seen Frozen and this just doesn't seem to fit! As for HSM I am a Mum of girls so we had it for several years. The third movie is my favourite. :)
