Here's to health

I've been sick - really sick. Except I didn't realise quite how sick I was.
I was up all night, Wednesday night with an upset stomach. The next day I felt terrible, and couldn't eat, but I assumed tiredness was part of it. Friday I woke with a migraine, so assumed the nausea and fact I couldn't eat was linked to that.
Same with Saturday.
I didn't eat for three days, and had no appetite at all, a first for me. I lost so much weight, I physically changed weight (so I currently have a flat stomach, but I doubt it will last long).
Saturday afternoon, the migraine lifted and the bug had gone. Poof! Just like that, I felt fine. I hadn't realised how sick I was, and how much it effects everything you do (and how you feel emotionally).

So if someone is ill, cut them some slack.
And if you aren't, treasure your health. As Virgil said "The greatest wealth is health."

Linking up with #TIK because I know it sucks to be sick (not the most interesting blog post, but cut me some slack - I was too sick to do anything!!)

  3. Goodness, sounds like you really did get flattened by some sort of nasty bug Lydia. I hope you are on the road to recovery now but do try to take it slow and look after yourself x

  5. So sorry to hear you've been sick. Sadly I can relate. I'm currently awaiting biopsy results and it's been a week. Doing my head in and I'm no well to start with.

Hope you are feeling better soon.

  6. Oh that is not good to hear at all. Being sick stops me in my tracks, both physically and mentally. It is like a curtain comes down and I can't see, do or think past that curtain. I'm glad you are feeling better now x

  7. Nothing worse than feeling sick, but sometimes we just have to listen to our bodies and slow down. (or they force us too anyway!) Glad you are better x

  8. Oh dear, that was an intense sickness. I'm sick at the moment, a long drawn out sickness that is so exhausting. I'm at that point where I cannot imagine what it even feels like to feel healthy.

  10. Oh, I completely understand. I had a bad ear infection and then the infection got infected (long story) but I spent a week incapable of doing anything but moan then a week recovering.

PS. Writing about it helps cos other can share the frustration! :-)

  14. Shame that you were sick! I think sometimes we get so caught up in the busy-ness of life we don't allow ourselves to rest even when we are sick. I'm a firm believer that the body is usually trying to tell us we are way too stressed and busy when we fall sick,

  15. Wow. That bug sounds dreadful. I cannot imagine not being able to eat for three days, even that would make you weak.
