Do you protect your phone?

To everyone who lets their kid skate board without a helmet, here's a question for you? Do you put your phone in a hard case? If so, why? What is going to damage your phone that won't damage your kid's skull?

The sponsors of the pros insist on helmets (maybe only for advertising space but it's still required) so if your kid wants to get in the big leagues, they better get a helmet (not to mention all the money to be made with merch later on...it's the helmet design that differentiates them).

I know it's not popular but is it really a risk you're prepared to take? Which is irreplaceable? Your kid or your phone?

(And for those of you that argue with your teen on this, ask them the same question).

  1. A good, no BS argument there!

  2. My son has split his head open three times now - once when he fell through his bedroom window, once when he jumped onto the back of his brother's bike just in our front garden on grass and then promptly fell off and hit his head on the rockery and the third time was when a friend waved his scooter through the air outside McDonalds and Alexander's head ended up getting hit by the scooter! As you can imagine I definitely insist on helmet wearing even in the front yard and on grass whenever there's a bike, scooter or skateboard involved!

  4. Helmets save lives, brains, skulls, heads and the ones we love. No excuse not to.

  5. Well said. I insist on helmets.
Also my case helped save my phone from the bath last night, so I insist on them too.

  6. Great to compare it to a phone. I cringe every time I see kids without helmets. #TeamIBOT

  7. Spot on, Lydia. A helmet is a must, not buts about it.

  8. Its a helmet or no scooter in our world. I hate seeing cyclists on busy Sydney roads riding without a helmet! So dangerous!

  9. Perfect! I live in a town where I see lots of kids and adults riding around without helmets but we have a strict no helmet no ride rule. The ones that get me are the parents who have one on riding with their kid who doesn't - why???

  10. I'd definitely be getting my kids to wear helmets though I guess they probably rebel once they hit their teens!

My phone screen is shattered (and has been for 2yrs) but I have a LifeProof case for my iPad, as I read in the bathtub!

  11. I am stunned when I see adults and kids riding bikes without helmets. It's such a simple rule to follow for such good reasons.
