I'll admit I've been under enormous pressure and not coping. Moving has been a nightmare and I seem to be allergic to the paint or finish on the house so I feel constantly sick as I unpack a lifetime for five people. I'm exhausted and bad tempered.
However, After spending 5 hours on Sunday moving the last of the boxes in the apartment, I ran away with a friend down from Brisbane to the Intercontinental. We got a club room, so had high tea, cocktails and breakfast all overlooking the stunning Sydney Harbour. I can tell you that for 22 hours I felt like a million bucks again!
Brief today as I have more to unpack, but hope you too are loving life!

All I can say is, from my experience, it DOES get better. Never as quickly as one would like, but it gets better nonetheless.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes in your new home!

A view like that, would cure a lot of ills.
ReplyDeleteLooks like the perfect getaway from the movnig blues. I'm not even moving(thank god!) but I could do with a getaway like this x
ReplyDeleteStunning views. For a minute I thought that was the view from your new digs!
ReplyDeleteI haven't had to move in 15 years. I plan to at some point in the not too distant future. To warmer pastures. Maybe in 5 years time. I'm dreading the actual moving bit already ...
Love the Intercontinental! Gorgeous views, beautiful indulgence... lucky you. Good luck with the rest of your unpacking :) #LovingLifeLinky
ReplyDeleteMoving is one of the most stressful things we ever experience! I hope you start to feel more settled soon. I have stayed at the Sydney Intercontinental Hotel and it is gorgeous! I'm not surprised that it did the trick and made you feel like a million bucks again! :-)
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a wonderful break from the stress of unpacking!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to have a girlie escape and what a view, a great view really does wonders for the soul x
ReplyDeleteOh it sounded like you needed the break Lydia and what a great idea!
ReplyDeleteI went to Problogger just after moving this year and although I'd unpacked most of my stuff, it was actually nice to have a break away from it all. INitially I thought the timing couldn't be worse, but then realised it was kinda nice to have it to look forward to!
Moving is super stressful and so difficult. That break will have helped so much! We recommend it to all our clients mid renovation or build.x
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pictures - and what a great way to relieve the stress!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful views, I love being on the water.
ReplyDeleteWow what a view!
ReplyDeleteI painted my house using Porters Paints, there wasn't even any smell while painting, it was amazing. They're natural, low VOC paints, highly recommended.
I found you via the #openslather blog link up!

So glad you're recovering from the move. It took me weeks to recover from mine and it was only across Sydney.

Gorgeous photos what a way to de-stress! I hate moving so much I keep talking myself out of doing it!!! I hope you are almost finished now. xoxo
ReplyDeleteOh wow, those views are amazing. I didnt know you were moving. It IS a stress that is for sure. We moved after selling in Sydney and packing up a lifetime of everything (even after culling, selling and all that) was HUGE. Then after 10 months in a place that we both hated, we moved again. We've been renting in this place for almost 12 months and hope not to move again until we have money to buy. There is no time frame for that, which in itself is also a stress. Nevertheless, we are making this rental place as comfy for us as we can and just hope the owners never want to sell. Best of luck for how things are this week... Denyse
ReplyDeleteMoving can be horrendously stressful. I think 'they' say it's in the top 5 of most stressful things. Your getaway looked divine.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos, and as for moving and unpacking, it does come to an end.
ReplyDeleteMoving is tough and stressful. We moved our family 4 times and each move was difficult. I hope everything works out for you and you settle into your new home quickly.
