It's been a long time since I mentioned my torschlusspanik list. (For newcomers, Torschlusspanik is the German word for 'the fear that time is running out. It's the panic you get when you realise you haven’t done very much in your life, and if you don’t act soon the ‘gate closes’.' ). However this is precisely what the list is for. And so another item is added and we shall see if Mr Degas was right:

You've done so much cool stuff! I've noticed that there are lots of paint and sip (as in sip wine) classes popping up. Although I do not have an arty bone in my body, I think with a couple of wines inside me, I could create something very abstract!
ReplyDeleteIt is one of those classes....ha!
DeleteYou go girl. Look at all those checks.... I think it's fantastic.
ReplyDeleteYou never know- you might achieve number 17! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteOooh, now wouldnt' that be handy. That's from a few years ago and I'm still no closer!
Deletewhat an interesting list! I've always classed myself as a primary school painter, but there's a local business that I keep seeing around that teaches simple acrylic paintings who captures my attention. Maybe one day.
ReplyDeleteAisne ideas X #twinklytuesday
ReplyDeleteEvery person I have seen go unconfidently into the art in the pub (or whatever else they are called) is delighted with the outcome. As someone who gets a lot of joy out of the act of painting rather than the product it is a game-changer. Childhood memories of art and teachers who criticise our efforts have stopped so many people from creating. Ask Brene Brown! She tells her story and how, in her 40s she found the fun of art journalling. Denyse x
ReplyDeleteYou've accomplished some amazing things on your list. Good luck with the painting. My guess is you'll be glad you did it.
ReplyDeleteWell done with your list! Enjoy your art class experience and post your painting after.
ReplyDeleteWow, what an amazing list! You really are getting through it! I love that German word, it's a new one for me so thanks for that! #TwinklyTuesday
ReplyDeleteEvery now and then it's good to push outside your comfort zone. I get that it would be nerve wrackng though. Your Wednesday cough sounds amazing and you've done so much from your list it is very impressive #stayclassymama
ReplyDeleteWhat a list - I know I'm useless at painting but I guess my style of painting can be called abstract art #dreamteam
ReplyDeleteWhat a fab list of things to do. Painting sounds fun. I think the creative juice flows when you let it out from the heart. You might surprise yourself. I think if I remember rightly, being told to let go and don't think too hard. Enjoy! Ps. I really want to take a dance class. Thanks for joining us for the #dreamteam x
ReplyDeleteWOw, you are very accomplished on this list! I bet we will see your painting by next week! I love this! #stayclassymama xoxo
ReplyDeleteOH! I have got to make a list like this! You've checked quite a few off! At this rate, you'll be done before you know it!

I can draw if I have something to draw but not from imagination. I need a reference. And even then I'm not very good. #kcacols
ReplyDeleteWhat a fab list! Drawing and painting are two things I *really* wish I could do, but can't. Anything I draw looks like it has been done by my 6 year old! Thanks for linking up #twinklytuesday
ReplyDeleteThat quote by Degas caught my eye, I do paint so I can totally relate! The German word (would hate to pronounce it) sounds just like the mid-life crisis! Well done on achieving so much on that list, the one I'd love to do is number 18. #kcacols
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see how you manage number 17 'astonish yourself'! Good luck finishing your list. Thanks for linking up with #stayclassymama
ReplyDeleteI think you can tick off number 9. This list you've invented is pretty cool and random. Hope the painting goes well. #kcacols
ReplyDeleteI can relate to the fear of time running out, I have to say. Writing a book would be on my list, and astonishing myself (although I think I may have done that a few times already!), and lots more travel. I love painting but haven't done any in years. I'd like to get back into it some day. Thanks again for linking up with #kcacols
ReplyDeleteI love painting particularly with watercolours. I'm not very good at it, but I love it just the same. Writing a book is something I would love to do too.

I have had many different creative pursuits over the years, painting being one of them. I try my hand at just about anything when the inspiration take me. It's knitting at the moment. I'm knitting squares to make a blanket, nearly done!
