The best types of friends are the ones with whom you relax. You never need to think about what you said or did. You never feel the differences, just the bond.
Go where you're celebrated, not merely tolerated.
If you don't return home from time with friends feeling content with who you are, then they're probably not the people for you.
“Time doesn't take away from friendship, nor does separation.” Tennessee Williams

ReplyDeleteYour post could be used as the mission statement of an unofficial holiday here in the United States called Friendsgiving. It's a Thanksgiving celebration but with friends instead of family and you expressed the true meaning of that celebration. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteLove your take on friends. Beautiful. Love the video too.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day and week filled with wonderful friends. ♥
Agreed. I had breakfast with a friend last week that then morphed into coffee and a nice walk. It was delightful. And we are doing a repeat this week.
ReplyDeleteWell said, good friends are like family. Take care, have a great day!
ReplyDeleteI agree, great advice.
ReplyDeleteI agree with what you wrote and enjoyed this ditty
ReplyDeleteNice. My best friends now are family members.
ReplyDeleteYes, we have friends gathered from all walks of life, as you say, school, university, work, work and work and friends (parents) of your kids, but those that stick with you are those that are your true and real friends. You can pick up after not seeing each other months, of maybe years (especially now that we are on the other side of the globe) but when you visit it seems like you saw or spoke with them yesterday.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for visiting and sharing your links with us at SSPS #287. Thank you for sharing our logo and letting your blogging buddies know where you hang out and party.
Beautifully said and could not agree with you more! I do love that song. It's one of my favourites. Visiting you from #Mysundaysnapshot

I agree 100%. Enjoy those friends!
ReplyDeleteNicely said!
ReplyDeleteThe one factor I hadn't realised I missed so much in my life, was catching up with old friends. It was a hard time being away but dealing with anxiety, cancer and IBS meant socialising was hard. Not now, at least on my terms (I am better at self care than ever) and the fave catch ups I am enjoying right now are one to one with those friends from days in teaching. Looking forward to our eventual catch up next year too. Denyse
ReplyDeleteNice one Lydia, I agree with what you said here!
ReplyDeleteOoo cocktails! Thanks for sharing and for linking up with #MySundaySnapshot.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, Lydia! As Jim Morrison said: "A friend is someone who gives you total freedom to be yourself." Thanks for taking part in the "My Sunday Best" meme.
