End of Spring

 We near the end of Spring and it feels like summer. The heat, the storms and lots of lovely bees doing their thing.

My kiddo and her friend did a school project many years ago on the importance of bees and delivered little packs of sunflower seeds to the neighbourhood. One neighbour liked me to pass on information of the plants progress and there are a few gardens now with sunflowers and I wonder if that's because of the project or just coincidence....

  1. Same here, I've planted some extra lavender plants around the property this year, just for the bees.

  6. Bees have been declared to be one of the most ecologically significant creatures on our planet and they are being threatened on many fronts. Providing flowers in our garden that are attractive to bees is one the small things that we can do to help them survive. Thanks for hosting, Lydia.

  9. It's wonderful that your child and her friend took the initiative to raise awareness about the importance of bees. Their project may very well have inspired your neighbors to plant sunflowers, which would be a fantastic outcome.

  11. Hello :=)

    Lovely photos of bees, and their importance to our ecosystem is immense. They have their role to play, and we have ours which is to plant flowers that they like in our gardens. I hope the Sunflowers seen was the result of the seeds handed out by your daughter and her friend, :=)
