Sydney Comedy Festival

I've written about the health benefits of laughter and how much I love the Comedy festival - for $20 you can spend an hour in an audience, sharing a laugh filled moment with strangers.

Always laugh when you can. It is cheap medicine. — Lord Byron

I've booked about 10 shows over the three week period, and have loved getting out and about over the city to see them.

If you haven't booked anything, why not give someone new a go? Or turn up at the Factory or Enmore and see what's available? Check out what's on here.

Link for Oliver Coleman who has shows at the Edinburgh Festival at the end of July, early August here. His show was the favourite of the 9 I've seen so far. Last one for me tonight!

  1. Dear Lydia,
thank you for your invitation to link the Sydney post here, I'll be happy to do that as soon as the linkup is open. Thanks also for your answers to my previous comment. I'm really happy that dinner on the Harbor Bridge was so great! Then it was really worth it! (By the way, I only realized through your link that this other blog of yours is also "active"...)
Oh, and I wanted to write to you about your post with the mural from Melbourne: I just realized that some of the excellent murals I photographed in Melbourne are by the same artist: Matt Adnate: http://allthoseshapes. com/adnate_graffiti_street-art/
All the best and a good start into May - - with lots of opportunities to laugh! :-DD

  2. Laughing is so much fun, you can be serious all you like but if you don't have a laugh once in a while it can get too serious

  7. I always like a good laugh, especially if the jokes are witty and have the right degree of "blackness". What I cannot abide is stand-up comedians who pick on members of the audience and begin personal, insulting tirades against them in the name of humour. I saw such an attack in the last Melbourne Comedy festival and I had to get up and leave (and I wasn't the only one!). Thanks for hosting, Lydia.
