I had pretty low expectations but was pleasantly surprised. It's amazing how much effort went into it and it looks great. The first room you go into really sets the scene. I spent a lot of that game nervously looking around, while joyfully marvelling at what they'd recreated.
However I was having too good a time to feel any shame or disgrace (you will understand what I am referring to if you've played it).
The guards were really intimidating, and it was funny how nervous & jumpy you'd get if they came up behind you.
While we were waiting to go in, the guards marched past and I took a photo. One then stopped and looked at us. We all started to recoil nervously. It's was a brilliant start the night to set the mood.

We left exuberant, commenting how reinvigorating it is to play, and it's a shame adults don't do it more.
If you've watched the show, I thoroughly recommend this. It's so fun. Tickets can be bought here. I think they've just extended dates.
And that's what's been on my calendar.
Note these photos are all in the foyer. I didn't take pictures once the games began. So these are not an indication of the standard of the environment once you go inside.
Good post about play. Thank you! Aloha
ReplyDeleteThat does sound fun! Describing how you felt with the guards reminds me of how we felt on one of the Walt Disney World attractions where we came face to face with stormtroopers in an interactive Star Wars "ride." They made me very nervous!
ReplyDeleteLooks amazing, Loved it
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, Luna Park has certainly changed since I was growing up in Sydney in the 60s. Those guards do look intimidating, Lydia. Thanks for sharing your playful event with us at #WBOYC? Have a fabulous February. Sue L xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic Christmas present to receive. Guards marching past would definitely set a tone!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a great gift Lydia! It sounds like a fun time with a bit of nervous giggling and fear thrown in. Thanks for sharing with us for the WBOYC linkup and happy February!
ReplyDeleteI have not watched the show, Lydia, but my grandchildren told me about it. Sounds like you had a great time.
ReplyDeleteI kept meaning to look up Squid Games after our American football game (Super Bowl) halftime show that people were talking about afterwards (I didn't watch the game, the show, or the commercials, but have been catching up on highlights on Facebook, YouTube, etc. So now I have a better idea of what Squid Games is all about!
ReplyDeleteWow, I would LOVE to visit there! Red light - Green light - gotcha!
