Jonothan Livingston Seagull

I spent a good amount of time trying to capture the seagulls in flight on the beach. With the sunrise, and where they were flying, the light was always in the wrong spot (though it looked pretty). I still got a great deal of enjoyment out of trying, even though none of the pictures were particularly what I was after.

Happiness is found in the doing, not always in the achieving.

I am not a patient person, so it's good exercise for me to wait and focus on such a simple task.

I read an article that said it was a sign of ageing if you become really interested in birds. So mea culpa. What can I say?

  2. I love to hear them talk to each other. You better be careful if you have food. They can steal it very easily. Great shots.

Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday, Lydia. ♥

  7. Delightful pictures. Living beside the sea I'm never far from seagulls, the noisy little devils!

  8. I love your seagulll photos. You got a great variety of shots. I guess that I am one of those who are getting older and more interested in birds.

  9. Hmm, apparently, an interest in birds really is a sign that you're getting older... I wasn't particularly interested in them back then either.
...although I have to confess that in 1981, when cameras still had to be loaded with film, I only shot a single 24-exposure roll on my adventurous Interrail trip through Europe: It contained three or four photos of my friend Gaby, two or three photos of me that Gaby had taken, a few houses and palm trees that looked interesting to me, NOT A SINGLE photo of the various wonderful people we met along the way, NOT A SINGLE photo of the breathtaking and then-deserted Park Guell in Barcelona... - and the rest of the roll was full of seagulls we saw on the ferry between Germany and Denmark. I was simply thrilled by these flying artists. You can assume that your seagull photos are much better than mine were.
By the way, I really liked Jonathan Livingston Seagull, both as a book and as a film.
All the best from Austria, Traude
