And that means
VIVID is almost here. On Monday as I waited to go into a play at the Opera House, the bridge lit up in what I can only assume was a test for the coming festival of art and light. As you've probably worked out, anyone who has followed my blog for over a year, VIVID is my favourite festival in Sydney. For three weeks, the city comes alive after dark and beauty abounds, all for free. Lights on from the 24th of May.
So for this week, I am loving that VIVID is almost here.
In other news, a whale was in the harbour yesterday off Manly. The whale season starts on the 17th of May, so start planning your excursion to see these glorious beasts.
Who says you need to be rugged up indoors in Winter?
What are you loving this week?
I remember your past VIVID photos. Look forward to seeing this year's VIVID and whale photos. #lovin'lifelinky
ReplyDeleteLove the VIVID festival Lydia although I live in Brisbane and haven't visited IRL I get to see it through photos on blogs like yours. I miss Sydney where I grew up but I have to admit Winter on the GC is perfect. #Lovin'lifelinky
ReplyDeleteI went to Vivid in Sydney in 2016 and loved it! I happened to be visiting Sydney at the time so that worked out well. Shame my recent visit didn't tie in with Vivid again this year! :-) #TeamLovinLife
ReplyDeleteI think I'll be in Sydney again during Vivid - I must try and stay in town after work one night. Whale season up here is from 1 June. We tend to see them closer to sure though, on their return migration. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeletePM me when and if I'm free I'll come for a drink...
DeleteI love Vivid and went twice when I still lived in Sydney. My Uni alumni is offering amazingly good value harbour cruises during Vivid but at my age and stage, it is now too hard and too much for me. I shall live Vivid through you! Denyse x
ReplyDeleteSounds like lots of fun. Lydia. Sydney is fun for whatever as we saw it in January. I googled VIVID, the Opera was sooo pretty.
ReplyDelete..
Wonderful night photos!
ReplyDeleteGreat images, wow! Since moving to New Zealand, I have enjoyed 'winter' that isn't full of snow and slush. I'm sure I could adjust to your winter quite well!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots! Enjoy the festival.
ReplyDeleteGreat night shots!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures of the night and the Opera House, it's beautiful whatever time of day or night. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI hope you'll share photos from this year's VIVID festival. It must be amazing.
ReplyDeleteMy post features a visit to Seattle's Volunteer Park Conservatory.
I look forward to seeing more of Sydney in the coming weeks.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant photos would love to see Sydney Enjoy VIVID :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a vividtastic week :-)
Awesome shots! I keep forgetting that the seasons are the opposite down under!
ReplyDeleteWinter may be coming in the southern hemisphere but it certainly is stubborn about leaving the north. Your festival of lights looks amazing, something that I would love to see.
ReplyDeleteNice shots!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great series of shots!
ReplyDeleteWhat am I loving this week? That I'm getting done with classes. I just feel tired, like any teacher does in May around here. Ha!
A very nice series!

Lovely shots, Lydia, and even without 'vivid' lighting, the Harbour and the Bridge still look fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining "My Sunday Best" meme.
Sounds like loads of fun! Can't wait to see your images!
