Ostrich


 There's an awkward gracefulness about the ostrich. They are beautiful yet strange at the same time.

These were taken at Auckland zoo when I went to see the kiwi....

  1. The skinny vertical parts of the bird seem inadequate to support all the horizontal extravagance and weight. But the ostrich still walks with pride.

  3. I’ve never seen an ostrich or an emu in its native habitat, but the rheas we saw in Patagonia made up for it. Those huge birds are amazing.
