Rainy Season

Sydney seems to be in the rainy season - while I shouldn't complain as other parts of Australia are dealing with floods, cyclones and other severe weather events, like a true Sydneysider our daily downpour is doing my head in.

We've needed an electrician to come and deal with a leak that sent water into a light fitting, which will also mean we'll need a roofer.

I'm trying to give away stuff so I'm endlessly bringing stuff in and taking it back out so it doesn't get damamged.

It's impeding my ability to walk everywhere.

And just general annoyance.

However, I guess in a country where drinking water is always under threat, and we seem intent on building data farms everywhere, I guess more rain is preferable.

And it's not all bad, it makes for some pretty pictures.

  3. The weather definitely makes the simplest tasks feel like a marathon. Those photos are a silver lining, though, especially the reflection shot and the rainbow!

  4. We are having weird heavy rain weather events too. I hope you didn't get anymore leaks there.

  6. You´ve got rain, we here got a lot of snow in the past days. Winter has returned. Hope it will be spring again soon. Even when it is rainy pictures can be very impressive.
    Have a good time

  7. Hello, Lydia, I sympathise fully with you on the matter of rain and roof leaks. We have a roofer come in on Thursday to fix a leak in one of the bedrooms upstairs. At least we thankfully didn't get electrical damage. Thanks for hosting and have a good week!

    1. Roofers are so much money and you don't even see a benefit (though you don't see more damage so you have to pay for it!)

  8. I'm jealous of your plentiful rain, as we have been in a long drought. I agree that DATA centers are gross-- our area is trying to ban them. Not only do they use a lot of water they also "hum" very loudly all day and night

  12. Water damage is such a bummer when rain does that. I'm always leery of rain and my roof. It's either tornado warnings here lately with downpours or just rain all day. Seems we can't so far this Spring have a warm day without the rain. I guess though I prefer rain compared to snow when it's bitterly cold. Have a great weekend and hope things get smoother for you.
