So, as you may remember, one of my favourite cheer me up activities is to sort out my xmas charity donations. Share the Dignity's #Itsinthebag drive is one of my favourites, giving toiletries and goodies in a bag to homeless women. This year the drop off locations are at Bunnings, and the drive is from the 16th November until the 2nd December. (For those that don't have the time or interest in putting together a bag, Chemist Warehouse will pack and deliver it for you (donate here).
This year I've done two - an adult one and a teen bag (you tie a yellow ribbon on it).
As for what I'm loving, one of my children finished school! I am so thrilled for her and excited by the next adventures that lay ahead, whatever they may be! The HSC stretched over three weeks which is just way too long. (As I have one kid still in primary school, I feel a long way to go before I'm out of the woods, but I'll take each celebration for what it is!). I don't feel sad or like it's an end of an era, I'm just excited by all the change that's coming her way.
What do you do to lift your spirits?
Will you be doing #Itsinthebag?
Got a school leaver? Are you happy or sad?
Linking this old post with #Blogtober but it is coming up again....
I love doing charity as well and those bags look awesome indeed!
ReplyDeleteI love this products . Keep commenting on my blog because I love your comments.
ReplyDeleteI love this charity and have put a bag or two together for the last two years. This year though I'm not as organised. I've had a lot going on. I'll get back on the wagon next year though for sure. Hope you feel better soon! :-) xo #TeamLovinLife
ReplyDeleteHi Lydia, I love this Charity too and last year was my first year to donate. I'll be doing it again for this year. I believe that helping others is a great way to lift your spirits because it reminds us of how fortunate we are.
ReplyDeleteI love this charity, but haven't donated at Christmas before. I like that Chemist Warehouse can do it for me, so might take the easy way out.
ReplyDeleteI definitely feel doing something for someone else that is in need is a great way to lift your mood. I find going for a long walk always lifts my mood when I'm feeling blah. #TeamLovinLife
ReplyDeleteI like the way you could turn your not so great time around with this venture and post. Yes, the HSC can 'get' to everyone in the family I reckon but as it's your first round, then you "are done" (this time). There is a certain melancholy at this stage of life and that my friend, is understandable. ReplyDeleteTo be honest I think it's more to do with those Anglican schools and the political nature at the moment. (And the incident I wrote about in Tuesday's post.) It's eating at me.
DeleteSorting things out for a giving, cheery drive sounds like a good way to feel better. I've been battling some things for the last month and the first time I got some actual sleep made a world of difference.
ReplyDeleteSleep is definitely good for resilience!! Hope you are ok now
DeleteTo lift my spirits I usually do something selfish - which is probably why it doesn't usually work or only work briefly. I've only done 'Share the Dignity' as part of a group not packed bags myself but it's something I could easily attempt this year!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder to get my “share the dignity” bag together
ReplyDeletewish you all the best.
ReplyDeletehave a great day
I have a bag ready to fill for "share the dignity". I just need to buy the stuff to put in it
ReplyDeleteSounds like a feel good activity Lydia. I hope you are feeling better.
