For my birthday each year, I zip off and sneak myself a piece. If we have visitors from overseas, I take them some. If we have a gluten free dinner guest, I also put in on the menu for dessert.
If you haven't had it, I suggest you try it. Light and fluffy, refreshing and sweet.
What's the best cake you're eaten? Do you have a favourite birthday cake?
Linking short and sweet (boomtish) with #MakroTex or see it repeatedly on my Insta over the years....

Oh my, that's pretty. It even has a pretty name.
ReplyDeleteLooks yummy! #lifethisweek
ReplyDeleteOMFG I had almost forgotten about this cake. I used to drive all the way to Newtown from out past Fairfield on a Sunday sometimes just for this cake. I miss it so much now. I miss Black Star Cafe. *cries* Thank you for cake memories ;) can you tell that I love cake?
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my most favourite cakes too. Black Star Pastry also have an amazing mango and yuzu cake that I love.

That red sizzles!
ReplyDeleteYay for cake hey! I still cannot get my head around watermelon and cake but I shall take your word (and Kat's and SSG's!) that is is awesome.

I'd much rather a piece of that, than the peanut butter on ricecake that I'm nibbling on at the moment!
ReplyDeleteYes! I love this cake too!

I thought of you when I read a story about how it's now available as a soft serve.
ReplyDeleteI love that I'm associated with this cake!!!! ha!
DeleteI've had this cake once and it was delicious! I'm a bit old skool when it comes to my birthday cakes. I like a classic sponge sandwiched together with jam and buttercream.
ReplyDeleteI have had that cake but being a chocolate lover, must confess while it's delicious, it's not my favourite
ReplyDeleteAh Lydia, sharing this again has made me curious but I still "don't equate" watermelon and cake!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up for #lifethisweek. Next week's optional prompt is: 24/51 Thank You to Me. 17/6/19 Denyse
