I know I'm harping on about the rain but it really is doing my head in.
I guess the dams are filling (and endless problem in Sydney) and the gardens are green but the clothes aren't drying unless we use the dryer (for the Americans, this is frowned upon here as lazy and kind of selfish due to the environmental damage and wastefulness, like cage eggs, we never want to admit we are doing it. We do love the smell of clothes dried in the sun!) and more importantly, it's ruining my ability to walk everywhere. I regularly squeeze in a 3-5km walk by getting to the theatre or show on foot.
However, I was lucky enough to get a dry window for my 11km walk this Sunday and got some fabulous pics as a reward.
Even got up close to a bush turkey who seemed to want to dry off for a bit!
And of course, the rainbow finished off the morning! A good reminder that we need a little rain to appreciate the rainbow!
These are some really lovely photos. I know what you mean about the endless days of rain and feeling all cooped up though. It can get annoying real fast even when I know we need the rain! I'm just such a sunshine person that I prefer a mix of the two as much as possible. Those endless gray wet days get to me.
We've been quite fortunate here on the west coast, we've had probably just the right amount of rain not too much, more sunny cold days than wet days but I'm getting over the cold 1 degree nights, looking forward to Spring.
What beautiful photos, Lydia. We haven't had rain in ages where I live, so it looks lovely to me. It's so dry here, we should consider hanging close to dry. The only problem I can see is there's a lot of construction dust around us right now, and the wind blows each afternoon. I wonder if I could work it out so the clothes don't get too dusty.
Hello dear, This year I’m noticing more than ever how some parts of the world are getting far too much rain, while others suffer from far too little. Here, we had a very wet July, but now summer heat has already taken hold again. In Canada, wildfires are raging. In Southern Europe it’s unbearably hot – and probably in many other countries as well... 🔥☀️ Humanity is partly to blame for climate change – but I’m not willing to carry all the sins of recklessness and greed on my shoulders. Still, we have to live with the consequences...
