While on Bruny Island, I learned that their white Wallabies are not Albino as it's not a recessive gene (I had done a beer tasting for breakfast - because I'm classy - so feel free to correct me if I've mixed that up.)
I'm not sure if the same goes for these animals - at the time I thought they were Albino Kangaroos but can't remember if I read it or just decided it.

Beautiful white kangaroo photos. Glad to see their different actions.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos and so interesting. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDelete...now these are some critters that I have never seen before, thanks!!!
ReplyDeleteHmmm, they look a bit sickly those whiteys... Albinos have red eyes because of lack of melanin in the irises (as well as lack of melanin in the rest of the body). White-coloured animals have normal coloured eyes (because of normal melanin in irises, but little melanin elsewhere in the body).
ReplyDeleteGood to know.So these are Albino kangaroos. (What I don't know about animals could fill a book!)
DeletePS: Thank you for hosting, Lydia!
ReplyDeleteI think albino animals have pink eyes and these wallabies seem to have pink eyes. They are very unusual!
