Quiet morning moment

The waves were crashing about ferociously as I walked along the beach early in the morning. As I rounded the point, I came across a moment of stillness, enjoyed by all.
The pool was empty though a bather was considering jumping in.
The bird was airing her feathers and the ship silently waiting it's turn to move forward in the queue for the port.
The noise of the ocean, the wind and the birds all seemed to fall away, though maybe I just tuned them out?
“Silence is not the absence of noise, but the presence of something greater.”
― Dirk Hessel

Linking with #MondayMusicMovesMe on the anniversary of the Titanic sinking. This is the only picture of a ship I have in 14 years of blogging!

There was a song called 'Whatever floats your boat will sink my ship' but I've gone with Grace Petrie's Storm to Weather.

And I found this one - not heard of them before. It reminds me of another song which I just can't place....I like the clapping...(if you ever need an instant mood lift, start to clap with intensity. It's an automatic mood shift. I don't know if it's the doing that distracts you or if it's a pavlovian response after years of applause. But it works almost the instant you start).

  1. The bird, the ship, the sea, all holding their own kind of silence. Beautiful capture.

  7. Great capture, it works perfectly for this week theme! Both of your bands and songs are introductions, I enjoyed the second band the most. I may check out more of their music on YT. Thanks for joining the 4M party, Lydia. Have a boogietastic week! xo

  9. I didn't know either song but I enjoyed both of them. I live far from the ocean but enjoy the ocean so when I can visit it. I was curious about your bird. I'm still somewhat of a beginner birder and, living in the United States, I don't know your birds. My iPhone identified this as Phalacrocorax or a cormorant. We have differing cormorants where I am, half a world away. I see them sometimes near where I live.
