School's Out!

I was sick last week so things went off the boil, and I've decided as of next week, I'll take a 2 week hiatus to enjoy the school holidays and have some fun with the kids, and avoid the temptation of my iphone distraction. A little more living in the moment.

I am indeed one of those mums who thrives on school holidays and struggles during the term time. So I may as well go full pelt into lazy days ahead.

So first of the month fiction will go live on Friday, and then you can enjoy some radio silence from Where the Wild Things Were.

I will keep my eye on all of you, from time to time...but forgive me if my comments are down.

These holidays I am looking forward to seeing the great art of Turner and strolling in the chilly mountains. A bit of theatre, for both me and the kids. I might even exercise. (WHAT?).

To all of you having a break, enjoy! To all of you running full steam ahead, good for you!

As I have a few 'blank days' in the holidays, and a limited budget (as I spent it on Turner), what is your top tip for holiday fun? What thing are you looking forward to the most in the next 2 weeks?

Linking up with Essentially Jess for IBOT. Pop over and see who else is hanging around there.

  1. Great idea! We still have2 weeks of school left!!
You could incorporate that weird word you used 'exercise' with a free activity and find a great short hike, and pack a picnic!

  4. I think it's a great idea to take the time off to enjoy with your family. I believe that holidays are for holidays so take the time and cherish those moments (even if they do involve exercise).

  6. I have a friend who is doing geochaching with his kids in the holidays. Apparently theres an app you can download that helps you find 'treasure'. I'm thinking that's a good cheap activity to keep everyone interested.
We've got four weeks of holidays here, and I love it!!!

  9. Because we live in cold old Canberra we like to escape in winter. So this year it is Hawaii. We leave in two weeks. But I have to say ... staying at home ain't so bad either coz Canberra now has the outdoor ice skating rink in the middle of the city which provides loads of fun for the kids. And then there is also the galleries, museums and the zoo. Plenty to do!!
