So just a quick one while I fail at
#SocialSeptember twenty four hours into it...I've been listening to Stole the show by Kygo, the DJ Power mix, and it's so upbeat and happy, and then for some reason I googled the words (even though I'd been singing along for days) only to discover that it's a really sad song about the end of a relationship. What?!?!?! (I thought it was about some technical difficulties but still being a huge success...overcoming adversity, that kind of vibe. Who says I just hear what I want to hear?)
Has anyone else had this extended version of MondoGreen when you thought a song was about something, only to discover it was about something else entirely?
Still attempting to limit my online (while moving house and having a
breakdown holiday) so in THEORY, see you in October.
PS This is not the version I'm listening to but it's the closest I can find with a clip to embed - not that this is a clip really....
and it's not wanting to embed *GAR!*

Ugh! I get the same thing sometimes when I see music video that doesn't seem to bear any relation to what I imagined!

ReplyDeleteYes! More often than I can count haha!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it bizarre when a song's lyrics doesn't meet its general mood? Enjoy your offline time! X
ReplyDeleteI tend to get song lyrics completely wrong - as in misinterpreting the words altogether and then being laughed at by others! Good luck with moving.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's happened to me quite a bit and then every time I hear the song after I've figured it out I feel horrible. :( But I do like this music, great running music.
ReplyDeleteOh I love this song. I had never really thought about what it was about, as with most music I listen to (mainly on the radio). It has just made me realise I need to put some music on my phone to use while I walk! (lightbulb).
ReplyDeleteHope the moving goes well, don't envy you on that one. I feel so out of the loop have never heard of this song
ReplyDeleteHappy Moving !! Noting like a good beat to get you moving.
ReplyDeleteWhat is even more fun is when I think of them one way and the Mr another.
ReplyDeleteUggh i hope the moving is going ok!
ReplyDeleteI am totally winning at social September because the online world is so full of morons i can't stand it!
Yes, just recently I was thinking.. what an odd love song, thinking it was about a man and a woman but infact, it was written for the singer's newborn baby. I can't remember what it was called...
ReplyDeleteSending strength for the move.. Ugh, such exhausting stuff. x
