Ironically titled Out and About

Pink Clouds

In a rather poorly timed post prompt, and as I've spent the week more or less at home (when not at Supermarkets and walking the dog), I've little of interest to offer on the #Lifethisweek's theme of Out and About.

However, yesterday my husband needed something dropped at his office - I drove instead of getting the train like I normally would and parked at the empty Barangaroo point park, then walked through the greenery to get to his office.

I need to maybe try to find an empty outdoor space closer to home as it was a good mood enhancer...

Have you been staying sane in these isolating days?

  1. Hi Lydia, I'm fortunate to live by the ocean so plenty of opportunity to enjoy nature and the calming affect of the waves. I've been sharing a short video each day to help bring calm. Take care and stay well. #lifethisweek.

  2. I've been taking the dog out around the hood and to the dog park which has been almost empty. I feel a breath of fresh air and a slight stretching of legs helps keep me sane. I find puppy cuddles are very therapeutic too!

  3. I know there's been a lot of criticism about everyone heading to Bondi but people in my part of the world are kinda saying the same thing... our beaches aren't that busy here, so it is possible to still go for a walk or have some peace and quiet and barely see another soul.

In fact I'm telling myself I should head to the local beach (very quiet... I used to worry a killer could be lurking and no one would even see / hear it happen!) for an afternoon walk as the weather starts to cool down!

  4. Now that I'm home again it will be daily walks for me. Our beaches are mindful of the space issue and we'll be supporting local restaurants through takeaways as much as possible.

  5. Lucky here too, that I get to get out and about in the morning. I even enjoy my commute to and from work and school right now. It's a much treasured part of the 'old normal' for me.

  8. I'm mostly staying indoors but sometimes walk down the street waving at people and seeing what's blooming.

  9. Even before the pandemic, I prefer to stay at home if I'm not going to be needed outside. So, I'm keeping sane, by working from home and social networking :) Occasional grocery runs when needed.

  10. The pink in the sky is pretty!

I've been staying in as much as I can. I'm kind of a home body. My work is having us come in. I worry about it. Here we all have laptops. The work could easily be done at home. I'm annoyed! I don't want to leave, and not get paid. My husband is a Dental Tech. His last day was last Friday. He can't work with patients right now.

  11. I'm kind of enjoying the excuse to stay home with family and attend to my work. Today we cleaned out a closet, and there's ALWAYS something that needs cooking or cleaning.

  12. I'm glad you got to get out a little and get some fresh air! I live quite rural on a big lot so I can get out and about without meeting anyone, so I consider myself quite lucky.
Hang in there, it won't last forever :)

I'm so happy you are a part of 'My Corner of the World' this week!

  13. Your out and about photos were enjoyable. I so need to get a walk in. Hoping the rain will stop. It is to warm up...I'm getting too much like a couch potato and losing what I had gained earlier in the year exercise wise. Stay well and enjoyed seeing your visit to Pictorial Tuesday.

  15. Isolation is the word. Did manage a few circuits of a local sports field yesterday as there was noone else around. I'll take anything I can get at the moment. Living in a city makes social distancing hard.

  16. I hope you find one but there are still so many irresponsible, stupid people out there it's making it harder and harder to find a safe space. Your photos are lovely and getting outside if you can is really important. I love the sweet pup.

  17. Thanks for sharing your beautiful pictures. I had an operation on Friday so going out isn't an option for me at the moment. I am home and walk up the garden, go on book adventures and visit other countries via blogs. Please stay safe all of you!!! 🙋‍♀️🐝

  19. Lovely catch up...and in fairness, when I chose this prompt I had no idea of what was ahead!!
Thank you for linking up for Life This Week. Next week, the optional prompt, is for some, the (Easter) seasonally-based 13/51 Chocolate 30.3.2020. Hope to see you back linking up then too. Denyse.

    1. I will be there - and aim for one cheery post each week, no matter what (the other weekly post can go either way).

  20. Nice your photos, I can ride a bike but without contact to other people and go shopping for a while!
I wish you a good time and stay healthy!

  21. Glad to see you being "out and about", although not really! I am also trying to do the same, even if it is an hour's walk in my neighbourhood or local park.
Thank you for taking part in the "My Sunday Best" meme.
