I will be honest, I'm not a big fashion person. I just like what I like. I only went to the McQueen Exhibition because my other plans got cancelled. However, I did enjoy it, but maybe not for the 'right' reasons.
I loved the curation (or the way it was set out, more than what was actully chosen for display). I loved the knowledgeable people talking to their friends - it was a real insight into people's passion.
There's something alluring about that. I don't have to like the thing you love, but I love the way it energises you. I can sort of see the beauty through your eyes (and that can be anything - trucks. woodwork, statistics) and I might even envy that passion for something.
"I think there is beauty in everything. What 'normal' people perceive as ugly, I can usually see something of beauty in it."—Alexander McQueen

So true, it seems today that anything goes.
ReplyDeleteInteresting headware... but I'm also very much NOT a fashion person.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing at http://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2023/01/weighing-heavy-on-my-mind.html.
I am not a fashion person either but that headwear is very regal heheh! :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a catwalktastic week 👍
I love the idea that sometimes the most exciting thing about something is how excited somebody else gets about it #anythinggoes
ReplyDeleteI am not a 'fashion' person either and I confess sometimes I do not understand this 'hobby'. Because not all the time there is an armony between the persons and the costumes. And I saw almost science fiction images. And I really don't like the mannequins without faces... I see them all the time in the stores!
ReplyDeleteBut the image it's interesting and your thoughts about it! And indeed, in everything could be something beautiful, interesting, special, the seed of a new inspiration.
Thank you and Happy WW! Have a fabulous week ahead! 😘❤️
I like looking at Haute couture for beautiful textiles and skilled tailoring. Thank you for your weekend coffee share.
ReplyDeleteIf something is comfortable to wear, looks like it is made for one's body and provides the wearer with a feeling of confidence and pleasure, it's fashionable. Thank you for joining us on the "My Sunday Best" meme.
ReplyDeleteYes, I think everyone's passions are different & unique to each of us. It can be very intriguing to talk with others about their passions to see their interests. My husband was passionate about participating in a Wild West event. He talked to others very enthusiastic about the event, inviting them to come watch. The event was not as enjoyable to by standers as it was for the ones participating. By standers could watch but not hear the stories, get the details of what was going on & couldn't hear the results. I was a by stander that went along for support, encouragement & the social delicious available lunch. Karen #Weekendcoffeeshare
