Waiting

This beauty is by Reubszz

I am not a good patient. My recovery is really easy and I'm not in pain but I'm on a soft diet which is not anything I normally eat and it's messing with my head (and my body). I also don't have my normal energy so haven't done much at all.

These were taken while waiting for take away up the road - I got flat noodles and had to pick all the beef out because I'm allowed mince but not actual meat. (Look after your teeth, people, because this is a terrible diet. My husband was crunching on nuts last night and I was jealous. Just the sound of it made me sulk!) Shout out to Dumpling Master - you've been the highlight of my week!

Our father's day celebration is Tuesday night so I'm really hoping I can eat normally by then....stay tuned.

(I loved the detail on the pole to make the legs work when you looked at it from across the street)

I am out of sorts with my wings clipped. Though it was nice lazing about in the sun on the weekend, it agitates me at the same time.

Other smiles came from the flowers on the dog walk.

This is my new saying. Because music DOES make your hear grow fatter! Also reflection of me being a shadow of normal myself for #WeekendReflection.

The newspaper on the driveway made me double take - it's something out of history. I grew up with this being normal, and how we got our newspaper, but it's so rare these days, doubly rare where I live as no one has a driveway in the first place. Anyway, I got a chuckle out of it, feeling like I'd time travelled....
As a non smoker, I didn't know about this, the warning on the cigarette. It looked like pop art, discarded on the side walk (at a guess they were waiting for an uber, given it was thrown away half smoked) but let's pretend they read the warning and gave up. It's sooooo bad for you!!

Wish me a little more patience. (Because I'm really very lucky and it's really nothing to complain about)

Have a good week everyone!

  2. Love that flower mural, it really stands out with the black background too!. I'll be the one eating soft foods for a couple of weeks soon as well, when I remove 4 wisdom teeth and another one in October....then have to wait a couple of months for the implants. Have a speedy recovery. Thanks for participating in Monday Murals Lydia.

  5. Wishing you patience, Lydia! You've got this, and hopefully it won't be for much longer. I do so enjoy the art you shared with us. We used to get out newspaper on the driveway too, though it's been years since then. I miss sitting with the newspaper and a cup of coffee. Online or watching on television is not the same, as far as ritual goes.

  13. Gorgeous murals and flowers Lydia! I know what it's like to have your wings clipped and feel out of sorts. I've had my fair share of that this year too! It'll all be history soon enough and meanwhile keep finding and focussing on the good stuff, as you are! Thank you for sharing with us at #WWWhimsy xo

  17. You sure have had your wings clipped but look how much you notice everything. I so understand being 'jealous' of how other people can eat. We had home delivered newspapers all my life, and when we came back to Sydney to live it was my luxury each day. Fast forward to living on the Central Coast and NOT one newsagent could get their act together as ONLY one distributor was allocated and that is a big area to cover. Now I am a digital SMH subscriber

  18. Newspapers that deliver are becoming rarer here in the United States, too. Ours will still deliver 6 days a week (but not on major holidays) and since my husband won't read the online edition, it's a good thing, too. Hoping you can eat normally again soon. Your wings will grow back!

  19. We got the newspaper delivered years ago but haven't in decades. The only thing good the printed news is for is wrapping is lining a bird cage. On occasion, sheets of newspaper are excellent as packing material or wrapping something fragile and for these reasons alone we will pick up a Sunday's edition (because it's bigger) to keep on hand for such times.

I love all of your photos. I hope you have a speedy recovery. Have a boogietastic week, Lydia! xo

  21. Oh, I've been there and eating mushy stuff is just yuck. I did like the baby peaches. After a while, soup was boring and trying to eat spaghetti noodles all cut up was not a thrill. Love the murals!

  22. I've been terrible with blog reading and commenting. Hoping you heal up soon...I missed what you had surgery for or what you've dealt with but I hope you are back to yourself soon. I love those murals.
