Halloween Creep....

It's starting earlier and earlier, This year, from the 1st of October the streets are beginning to be festooned in orange....

It's like the neighbours are egging each other on, each house more decorated than the next....

As for the shops? They're all ready spruiking this season!

  1. It looks like your neighborhood is getting into the competitive decorating spirit, too!

  3. Halloween is not a traditional happening here. But it spread over from the anglo-american countries and now halloween parties take place at many venues...and the halloween outfits are sold in the shops weeks before 1st of November , traditionally here Allerheiligen (all hallows) where the graves are visited. I personally like the pumpkin soup most. Have a good time and all the best

  4. Halloween is in full swing around here, Lydia, and I'm all for it. I do see Christmas in the shops already, and even in television commercials. I get it, but I don't like it. I prefer to keep my holidays separate: October is for Halloween, November is Thanksgiving, and December Christmas. But I don't begrudge anyone who prefers a mix-and-match approach!

  5. That's a scary one!
It starts earlier every year! The shops will probably be full of Easter eggs in a few weeks time!

  6. I just returned to Florida which is very underwhelming in the Halloween decoration aspect. I miss the fun.

  7. I think we'll soon be seeing year-round Christmas, Valentine's Day, Easter, Halloween decorations and paraphernalia... It's all become rather too commercialised and everything has lost its original meaning. Our neighbours celebrate Halloween with a solemn dinner and a remembrance of the family's dead with the lighting of a candle for each one - which is rather beautiful. Thanks for hosting, Lydia.
