Starting school

Starting school means back to obligations, time frames, extra curricular and making lunches. It's a dull routine which I don't thrive in. So I'm not talking about that. I'm showing you my fun welcome back to Sydney week - Two concerts, a show, an indulgence at the day spa and just generally loving life!

So while I'd rather be travelling, I'm happy to call this beautiful city my home.

I can't believe we have 10 more weeks of this!
Do you love the school term? Do you look forward to the start of the school year?

  2. I can't make out who that is at the concert. I think this means I need new glasses. Thanks for the smattering of Sydney photos :) #LifeThisWeek

    2. I like the light in them...one's like a spaceship is about to beam him up and the other is like he's radiating a star...

    1. The overwhelming soon turns to tediousness...but shhh, you aren't meant to say that!

  4. It is both a good and a not so good thing being back at school I agree! I am actually going to be doing a bit of Sydney re-exploring tomorrow afternoon as we are staying overnight before my surgery on Wednesday a.m. I am distracting myself with looking forward to seeing Sydney sights again. Thank you for joining in #lifethisweek 6/52. Next week's optional prompt is "Who's a Worrier?".

  7. As a retired teacher I am loving term time as I can do as I please with no more prep, marking, meetings, admin etc, etc. I do miss the children though. No two days were ever the same.

    1. I'm a retired teacher too and agree, it's the kids you miss the most! Not the paper work or meetings!

  13. Since I was in school for a long time myself, I don't think about it as "school," more interested if whoever is in school, is learning! Beautiful night shots!

  14. Your photos of the city are awesome! It is a lovely place to live...sorry you are stuck in school mode, though. We stopped having to do that long ago.

  16. After so many years where routine was based around school terms, these days I forget - except for when I venture out at 8am or 3pm...or the carpark at Mooloolaba is packed. Great pics of Sydney - love the concert shot. #TeamLovinLife

  17. I no longer have any kids at school so it's not a thing for me anymore. I'm off to the beach on holidays on Saturday which was well planned for AFTER school holidays when it's cheaper and less busy! I must agree Sydney is a beautiful city. I love a visit there! #TeamLovinLife

  18. Those days are well and truly behind me, but I must admit I do find it kind of a relief when the school holidays are over so that my beach becomes a little less crowded. #TeamLovinLife

  19. I love school holidays and lack of routine on the home front. Only have one daughter left at school now, she is in year 11. #feelingold

  21. I don't have kids so the terms really only impact me in terms of my friends' availability or - more so when I lived in the city - the impact on traffic and my commute!

My mum tells me that she loved holidays when we were kids and really enjoyed the time we were home. I think things were different then though. We didn't have lots of outings or anything and had lots of neighbourhood friends so required minimal entertainment etc... #teamlovinlife

  22. Gotta love Sydney and all it has to offer! I don't mind the school term because working from home during the school holidays can be quite a challenge :) #TeamLovinLife
