It feels good to be back....

Those of you who follow my Insta will know I used to spend a lot of time at the Opera House. I did, until February 13th, my last visit there before the world changed completely.

Until last night.

I went back for an hour long show. Spaced and in a mask.

I was elated.

I went early for my usual treat, a negroni at Portside (followers of Insta will recognise that as my usual photo op with the Harbour Bridge as the backdrop) but alas as they're only open for dinner, I had to settle for a cocktail at Opera Kitchen instead (if I have to make do, that's still a good way to 'settle').

I have tickets to some talks there on the weekend.

It's not exactly the same. It's a little strange but it feels so good to be back. And it feels good to be looking forward to going back again.

What are you loving this week?

  1. Oh lovely. I think some semblance of normality is important after this year. I just saw pictures of a concert in Gladstone with those little raised booths so people could social distance and it looked quite lovely.

I'm glad you're able to start getting back into the things you love and find nourishing. x

  2. How wonderful. It's good to go someplace that you love. We've all cancelled so many things this year.

    Have a fabulous day. ♥

  3. How fabulous to be able to do these things again, differently but still great! I know that spot where you're sitting with your drink. I've been there. Love the outlook - bridge one way, harbour right there, opera house another way. Such a beautiful place to be.xo

  9. It would be such a marvelous trip to visit Australia some day. Of course just now our covid numbers are soaring and I'm nervous about going to a restaurant, much less getting on an airplane!
I hope this finds you safe and well, and thank you for joining us this week at https://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2020/11/a-quick-peek-at-cedar-creek-gallery.html

  13. Was there when the Opera House was just being completed back in 1967. Our Destroyer, the USS Carpenter visited your city for 4 days. I still remember how nice you people were to all of us. Us "Yankee" sailors had a wonderful time.

  14. Hi, Lydia, yes it's wonderful to have the freedom to do some of the pre-COVID things we loved to do. I guess, we now feel lucky in Australia all over again - seeing the plight of the Americas and Europe...
Thank you for taking part in the "My Sunday Best" meme.

  15. How wonderful for you to be getting back to the things you love! Maybe we all needed to be reminded of what we have.

It's great to see your link at 'My Corner of the World' this week!
