Pandemic

Like the sun rising higher in the sky, dappling a path of gold towards me,
I am watching the country slowly turn a little faster.
The streets are busier, the people are appearing,
but still tentative in numbers.
May the end of 2020 see a confidence and enthusiasm just on the horizon,
ready to burst forth in full colour.

  1. What beautiful light! I'm afraid to hope too much, but spring is a hopeful time...

    1. I know, right? It's all very tentative. I keep thinking we might have somehow got out of the worst of it but then South Australia flares up or NZ gets a case (I've still no idea HOW that is happening???) and I try to reign in my optimism....

  11. We are feeling a little more optimistic here in Victoria, Lydia. It's because we've had it so bad for so long, I think. Still, it pays to remain cautious while we enjoy life's little pleasures now that we can. Lovely shot!
Thank you for joining us at the "My Sunday Best" meme.

    1. I think you are lucky with the mandated mask wearing. People are wearing them less and less here now. I think this is going to be a problem for us. It's will get out and spread faster than it would if people were in masks. Dr friends said to me on the weekend, that if they say the vaccicnne is 90% effective, it really means it will still be more like 50% when you add in all the variables (and those that don't get vaccinated) so the focus still needs to be on not getting infected, rather than 'the vaccine will solve it all'.
