For Valentine's Day, I picked up a meal box from Botanic House to have with the family at home. Botanic House is in the centre of the Sydney Royal Botanic Gardens. An easy park then stroll through the glorious gardens was just what I needed to lift my spirits.
While ordering a meal box is not something I'd regularly do anymore, I do need to find time to get to the Gardens a bit more. It was so lovely.
While the Bay Run is good for ease and speed, the change of scenery is very uplifting, as it engages the brain in a different way.It was lovely to see all the flowers in bloom on a sunny day. A world away from my normal universe.

Such beautiful flowers! The Mimosa and Bird of Paradise are especially lovely. We once stayed in a hotel near the Royal Botanic Gardens on a visit to Sydney, and marveled at the fruit bats in the trees! They were giant!
ReplyDeleteThe bigger photo of the pink flowers looks so fuzzy. I want to touch them. So pretty.

ReplyDeleteI think they're the blossoms of a gumnut - if you google gumnut blossom you'll see pictures of them coming out of the nut.
DeleteBeautiful flower pictures. It's just odd to see flower picture while our landscape is covered with a huge amount of snow.

Those flowers are absolutely stunning -- if I lived close to those gardens I am not sure I'd ever find the time to cook!!!! We have a few of those here in Florida (even this time of year) a, unlike the rest of the United States, we are subtropical in climate -- but some of yours I have never seen. All are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI think they're the blossoms of a gumnut - if you google gumnut blossom you'll see pictures of them coming out of the nut. Part of Eucalypts I think?
ReplyDeleteSpecial flowers, those pink ones.
