Street finds

There are two good street libraries on my dog walk so I am constantly seeing what's there and finding books for friends.

I found this one and was today years old when I discovered Casanova was real person who escaped from prison. I always thought he was fictional!

There is one street library that often has psychology text books in it so I think the post-it's may not be personal, but I love that they left them in the book. I'd never heard of these people or the 8 Passengers vlog but I'll admit I went on a google frenzy and might read the book.

I love that even a book title can broaden your horizons.

While in Melbourne I wandered around early Sunday morning, waiting to meet my friend for breakfast. I discovered this little laneway and decided to follow it in between the buildings.

What was waiting for me were these murals.

Because of the narrowness of the walkway between the buildings it was hard to get the photos but it was really lovely to be surrounded by these gorgeous ladies.

There is joy to be found in the simplest things, if you look.

  4. I'm always fascinated to find unexpected notes and other writings in books, and I'm always delighted by the murals that I run across. My greatest happinesses are often in the smallest things.

  5. To go along with the book by Ruby Franke's daughter, see if you can find the documentary: Devil in the Family--The Fall of Ruby Franke. Your jaw will be on the floor.

  6. Those are some good finds from little libraries. We have one in our neighborhood, but it doesn't get much love.

  7. I love Murals! There is a city near me, Lake Placid, Florida that is known as the "Mural Capital of the World", but so is Philadelphia. My daughter and I spent a few days there not long ago and took many photos. We had a great time!

  13. There's some amazing things to find down the laneways in Melbourne. Years ago I did a walk through the laneways and the main thing it taught me was to look up because there are some great historical clues to be found everywhere!

    Have a great week!
