There's a public holiday day coming up on Monday (I was completely unaware until I read the prompt for #Lifethisweek). Normally, while not wanting to deal with the out of Sydney traffic, we might get a boat to Ettalong or Patonga for a holiday lunch, however we are currently a little housebound with this guy. Still too small to leave for more than a few hours.
As the whales are back in Sydney and putting on quite a spectacular show, I think we might try and repeat our whale watching cruise, which we loved so much last year, weather permitting. While in town, maybe swing by the Botanic Gardens for another peek at the #AllaboutFlowers exhibition.
Otherwise, I suspect it will just be a movie - given all the blockbusters are heading our way.
Have a great weekend, everyone, Drive safely and enjoy!
It sure is nice when there is a holiday and having an extra day off from work is great. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteHere in Queensland we don't have a public holiday - we celebrate Queen's Birthday in October when everyone else is having Labour Day. Labour Day, of course, is celebrated in April - closer to the Queen's actual birthday. No, it makes no sense to me either.
ReplyDeleteI am spending this extra day off treating myself. Heading out later for lunch and a bit of a stroll.

Are the whales still there? Do you think they'll still be there next weekend? I'm going to look into it.
ReplyDeleteLeanne, the whales continue to come up the coast for a few weeks yet but unless you get onto a boat where they 'chase' them you might miss them. I saw one at Norah Head last week but they are at quite a distance away. In October, however, they start coming back south and I saw them on a whale watching cruise out of Eden. Amazing!!
DeleteDef do it next weekend - we saw about 30 whales, plenty of tails (flukes - long tails, which is when they smash their tail on the surface to make noise), pectoral fin waving, and TWO full breaches - I'll tag you in the photo (my photo of the breach was just of blurry sky, as I was too slow and too excited to point camera in the right direction). My whale watching tip - just take a gazillion photos but don't look through the lens, as you may miss some of the action - better to watch with your eyes and just hope you are catching some of it. You will.
DeleteAny or all of those Holiday plans sound wonderful. Of course it isn't a Holiday for us here, but since we're old and retired we can make any day a celebration if we wish. (We actually tend to go places on weekdays instead of busier weekends when we can.)
ReplyDeleteThe Queen's birthday weekend has been moved to October in Queensland because we had all the holidays in the first half of the year. Your little puppy is just so adorable a lovely way for you to spend your long weekend - playing.

It was a good weekend to stay Indoors until today, Monday, when the sun did shine. I hope you got out for a while anyway! Thank you for linking up for #lifethisweek 24/52. Next week: First Concert.
ReplyDeleteI hope you ended up enjoying your weekend, even if it was closer to home. What a cute puppy - how could you resist that little face?!
ReplyDeleteIt was my daughters 7th Birthday so we are still celebrating!
