I decided to ignore the forecast of rain and race to the Melbourne Museum on foot. The weather held and I was blessed with striking light and a charming walk through the gardens of the Royal Exhibition building.
The colours of the flowers were bold and beautiful.
A good reminder that often the beauty is in the detail.
The ducks had ventured from the pond to enjoy the garden and puddle about...
It made for rejuvenating exercise, and I was filled with a joyful enthusiasm before I'd even arrived at my destination.
'Spring: a lovely reminder of how beautiful change can truly be.'

The garden, some stone figures, the pond and the ducks in the garden of the Melbourne Museum remind me of the aristocratic gardens in Vienna such as Schönbrunn or Belvedere. I think the building is very beautiful inside and out!
ReplyDeleteSpring really is a wonderful season, everything comes alive! Enjoy!
Happy weekend!

Hey! Welcome to Melbourne, glad you like our sights :-)
ReplyDeleteWould have tried to meet up but I was only there for 24 hours and with Picasso, Tate and Tyama, there was just no time. Only saw two friends for dinner, so there were a few that missed out. Just seemed so tricky.
DeletePS: Thank you for hosting!
ReplyDeleteI so want to go to Melbourne again. Such a beautiful museum.
ReplyDeleteYour duck pictures are great! I liked the flowers too. I'[m not much of a statue admirer. We like Melbourne also. but we didn't do the museum. The old train ride through the woods was great. See here,

Hello, Lydia
ReplyDeleteThe museum is a great place to spend a rainy day. I love the fountain, it is beautiful. Cute captures of the ducks. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a happy weekend! PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.
Amazing building & park! The richly decorated fountain is a great piece of history.
ReplyDeleteHello, The fountain, and your many photos of the detailed sculptures are beautiful. The ducks are so attractive, I'm not sure what kind they are, but enjoyed seeing them.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
I love to see where Phrynne Fisher walked. Just joking, sort of, because I loved that show. What captivated me were the very tall white flowers on the island. And the ducks. I've never seen ducks like that. The building is stupendous. Thank you.
ReplyDeletebeautiful images - looks like a wonderful place to wander
ReplyDeleteUsually even it's raining, I like to go in a place where I want to go.
ReplyDeleteImpressive spaces indeed!
