So watching leaves change colour but pretending summer hasn't quite left when I can....
The grey clouds have rolled in but carrying little rain - so the sun paints the clouds a myriad of colours, as if replicating the leaves....
When the kids were little, we would trek up to the Blue Mountains for an autumn weekend, to cozy by the fire and tramp about the gardens with red and orange leaves. I saw this quote and felt it's truth - I associate little with the season but much with the explosion of colour in the leaves and the crisp chill...

Dear Lydia, I wish you a speedy recovery! It's so strange to read that it's autumn for you now and winter is just around the corner. At the moment we are so happy about the warm summer sun and the many flowers. And I hate to think that the summer solstice will soon be upon us again.

That's really interesting - the hook of enjopyment (Halloween and NY Octobers) is wired in and overrides the recent adversity. Human brains are so fascinating.

ReplyDeleteHi Lydia, I love Autumn especially the foliage although in Queensland where I live we don't see that much change unless you go to the Hinterland. The sunsets have been stunning lately. We are off on our cruise to PNG so it will be a tad warmer LOL :) #WWandP

Autumn here has been gorgeous - clear cold-ish days with beautiful blue skies......until June arrived and the rain set in. It's been cold enough that we even scored some hail the other night. I get a bit sad at the early sunset but I also know that we are only 12 days away from the shortest days...and slowly the light will stay longer...and longer.... ReplyDeleteAutumn is my favorite time of the year. I love the variable weather, the low sun, the leaves changing color, and the snakes and spiders going away.

Its leaves do not fall, it defies the seasons.
