“It is not only fine feathers that make fine birds.” – Aesop

While I'm not usually a fan of the sky rat, these two were so clean and shiny, and 'kissing' that they seemed more like lovebirds than the germy, pooping pests I normally view them as.

Proving in the right light, everything is beautiful.

  1. Something really sweet and shiny about them, even though I don't really fancy these vermins from the sky (as my older daughter calls them) Lol!

Actually they do land up on my bird feeders every day to quench their thirst, and can't stop them from doing so in the sweltering summers.

  4. A beautiful pair. Love the colors.

I call them flying poop houses. I just don't use the work poop.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week, Lydia. ♥

  5. They have pretty iridescent colors! I use to see many pigeons in NYC. Not so many here as there are too many raptors in our area and they would make a plump meal.

  6. Lydia,

I'll never look at birds the same way again after your description. lol

These two feathered furriends are stunning! I absolutely love their colors and I don't believe I've seen pigeon like this before. Do you find these in the US or other parts of the world? My limited knowledge of bird recognition includes cardinals, bluejays, sparrow, chickadees, dove/pigeon (what's the difference?) and hummingbirds for the most part, so really I know little to nothing about them. Thanks for sharing such pretty birds with your readers and thank you for visiting the 4M party!

  7. Fine photos of these pigeons, Lydia. The angle of the sunlight must have been just right to get the colours popping like that. Thank you for taking part in the "My Sunday Best" meme.
