Cannon Ball Tree



While at the F1, I came across this strange tree. Quite conveniently, it had a fact sheet on it.

An onlooker was amused by my fascination, laughing at me taking photos of it.


The 'cannon balls' are huge. Like smallish coconuts.

    Are these flowers not stunning? They are often seen in our Indian temples, where Cannonball trees are held in high esteem due to their deep connection with god Shiva.

      Thanks for the input - Shiva the destroyer? Interesting link with cannon balls - or was it prior to that and its a fertility thing?
